Since the establishment of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab Ltd. in 1987, strenuous efforts have been made to promote tourism to the masses and to provide an infrastructure for the tourism industry in Pakistan.
In the past we have been able to introduce many novel ideas which have been transformed into reality. One such idea conceived was “School Tourism” whose objective was to familiarize our younger generation, tomorrow’s custodians of this country, with the concept of tourism by going through the experience in real sense.
TDCP takes pride in saying that the concept of School Tourism is not based on any commercial interest rather it is public service. TDCP conducts these tours on a no profit and loss basis.
After the first phase completion 768 students, along with 64 teachers, from 9 schools were provided outdoor excursions to Islamabad, Kallar Kahar, Hiran Minar, Rohtas Fort, Salt Mines and Lahore in class A, AIC transport, including a tour guide and lunches.
We again look forward to adoptees joining us in our efforts to advance society through our “Adopt a School for Tourism” program.
OBJECTIVE
The objective is to facilitate brilliant and intelligent students, belonging to the middle and lower strata of society, with an awareness of tourism, and its benefits.
After an extensive evaluation 55 Government Schools were selected from the city of Lahore (list attached). These schools are located in localities where the concept of tourism has not been introduced or appreciated by its residents.
IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY
• TDCP will arrange 6 tours to various locations that will inspire an appreciation and educate low income school children on the subjects of Pakistan’s rich history, culture, and heritage. Donor may adopt one school by paying the amount of 6 tours for 28 selected students for each tour
• Donor may adopt as many schools as he wishes
• All donations will be spent on the beneficiaries
• TDCP will provide A/C Coaster Bus Transportation for the tours along with lunch and a tourist guide
• Total cost of the annual package for one school is rps. 72,000/-
• Cost of each tour included in the package is also given separately as mentioned below:
a. Day excursion to Salt Mines Rs. 12,794/-
b. Day excursion to Kallar Kahar Rs. 13,000/-
c. Day excursion to Hiran Minar Rs. 9,477/-
d. City Industrial Tour in Lahore Rs. 8,500/-
e. Day excursion to Rohtas Fort Rs. 12,202/-
f. Tour to Capital City of Pakistan Rs. 16,027/-
A school sponsorship annual package is Rs. 72,000/-
Donors have the option of selecting which school they are interested in sponsoring.
MESSAGE
We request individuals, businesses, companies, corporations, industries, and NGO’s to come forward and “Adopt a School” for the promotion of tourism, the betterment of future nation builders, as an educational tool that will strengthen the foundation of this country. This valuable public service benefits the entire nation of Pakistan.
PROCEDURE
To register Adoptee’s may select one or more schools from the attached list and complete the attached registration form The institution will be informed of the name of the donor, donation amount Rs. 72,000/- and notification that the amounted donated has been deposited in Muslim Commercial Bank, L.D.A., Account No. 2423-3, Plaza Branch, Edgerton Road, Lahore.
Donors will be informed by the recipient / Authorized Head of the institution by way of a notification informing the donor that the tour has been conducted as proposed.
Selection of students i.e. 28 per batch are made according to the proposed criteria. Only the best students with acceptable academic records will be selected to include consultation/approval by the Head of the Institution.
Adoptees can select any school apart from those on the attached list who meet the following criteria:
(i). School lies within the limits of Municipal Corporation of Lahore.
(ii). School operating under the Provincial or City District Government and Lahore Municipal Corporation.
A complete voucher account and detailed report of the total tour amount spent will be communicated to Adoptee’s to ensure transparency.
TDCP maintains its tradition of taking up new initiatives for the promotion of tourism. Now we seek sincere and deep hearted supported from the private sector for this noble cause under the project “Adopted a School for Tourism”.

Total cost of the full package for one school per year (6 tours) is Rs 72,000/-
After conducting the tours a report will be sent to the Adoptee.
Package includes AC coach, lunch,, guide service, entry tickets, roll taxes, parking fees etc.
One representative from the school management will accompany each tour.
Tour dates will be finalized with the consent of the school management.
All donations will be spent on beneficiaries.
Transparent accounts and vouchers will be kept
A’ school adopted by a person or company etc… will not be adopted by another person or company etc… within the same period.
Once a student attends a tour, he/she is not eligible for subsequent tours. First priority is those schools which have been nominated from the list. The donor may also propose a school of his choice (not included in our list) subject to the condition that it is a government school within the limits of the Lahore district.
