Pearl Mosque, otherwise known as Moti Mosque, was completed in 1659 and is located within the famous Lahore Fort in the city of Lahore. The famous Taj Mahal, one of the top 7 wonders of the world, and the famous Diwan-e-Khas, which overlooks the Ravi, in Pakistan, was constructed by Shah Jahn, and the Pearl Mosque is just another feather in his hat.

Adjacent to Pearl Mosque is where you can see this world renowned architect’s sleeping chamber that is today open for pubic viewing. Within the same complex, beyond the audience hall, is an exclusive place that was once reserved for only royal ladies. Lovely carved marble, and lustrous pearls, can be seen in this luxurious area that once catered to only the most elite woman of this period.

Nearby is a marble pavilion called "Naulakha" Inlaid floral motifs and precious gems adorn this fascinating pavilion. Sheesh Mahal, or Palace of Mirrors, is another one of Shah Jahan’s projects constructed at the time the Pearl Mosque was erected. Mirrors and ornate designed stars and patterns decorate the ceilings of the palace.  Beautiful mosaic paintings depicting the Mughal Prince’s sport decorate the walls. It was in the Palace of Mirrors that people gathered to view the Emperor Jharokha and admire this luminously colored wall. Here you will find a dazzling veranda that overlooks a marble paved quadrangle with a fountain.
