Pakistan is considered paradise when it comes to food. Almost in every corner of the country you will find endless variety of food. Pakistani traditional food is generally spicy and is very rich in ingredients. From curries and kebabs to parathas and  biryanis, each dish is a unique reflection of Pakistan’s unique cultural heritage. Apart from traditional cuisines, there are plenty of popular western restaurants and fast food outlets in major cities. Chinese restaurants are also very popular in the country.

Some of the popular dishes are:


Biryani
A very popular Pakistani rice dish. Long grained rice flavored with exotic spices like saffron layered with lamb or chicken.

Seekh Kebabs
Seekh Kebabs or Kebabs on Skewers are very popular in Pakistan. Made with minced  Beef, Lamb or Chicken on grill, they are usually served with naan and mint chutney.

Chicken Karahi
A spicy blend of spices and chicken prepared in a wok (karahi)
     

Tikka (Chicken or Lamb)
Made with small pieces of chicken or lamb which have been marinated in spices and yogurt. It is traditionally made on skewers in a tandoor

Tak a Tak
Boneless lamb or mutton meat cooked in a spicy masala sauce with onions and tomatoes over a huge pan (tawa)

Haleem
Haleem is tasty pastelike dish made of wheat, meat (usually beef or mutton, but sometimes chicken or minced meat), lentils and spices.
